COVID-19 is Surging Again.

Beloved Chinese Medicine Community,

Please be aware that the number of positive COVID-19 cases is going up again. With a holiday weekend coming up and kids going back to school, those numbers are likely to rise.

If you are symptomatic, please test. As a reminder, new guidelines from the CDC state that if you test positive for COVID-19 you can go back to your normal activities when, for at least 24 hours, both are true:

  • Your symptoms are getting better overall, and

  • You have not had a fever (and are not using fever-reducing medication).

When you go back to normal activities, take added precaution over the next five days such as wearing masks and physical distancing. During that time we ask you to please reschedule your appointment.  Even if you are negative, please either reschedule or wear a mask if you are feeling at all under the weather and coming in for an appointment.

Masks are not mandatory, but are still our best defense against spreading respiratory viruses, like COVID-19, RSV or the flu, through the office. There a lot of people with compromised immunity coming through our doors and we want to make sure we take care of each other.

Look for our coming blog post on staying well into the fall.

Note: As of Aug. 3, the percentage of people reporting positive tests for the virus had reached its highest point since January of 2022. The US Food and Drug Administration is poised to sign off as soon as this week on updated COVID-19 vaccines targeting more recently circulating strains of the virus.

CDC's respiratory virus guidance consists of 5 core and 3 additional prevention strategies.
